It is ironic that an online service designed to help keep users’ passwords secure has been made susceptible to a hacker. LastPass is the service, and one of its users had their personal information stolen by a hacker, as per a blog post the company published on Monday. No password details were taken though. There was no indication that LastPass user accounts were opened. What this latest online attack perhaps does reveal though is that anything online is susceptible to being attacked.
When billionaire Elon Musk speakers about the Hyperloop project, many people sit forward to hear the latest news. It has been over two years since Musk first spoke of the Hyperloop transit project. His company SpaceX, which builds rockets, announced on Monday that they intend to build a test track in Los Angeles.
YouTube will soon expand into the video game arena. The announcement of its new platform and app, called YouTube Gaming, came Friday, just before the Electronic Entertainment Expo.
The platform is scheduled to go live later this summer; it will launch first in the US and UK. The format will feature individual pages for over 25,000 video games that include the legendary Zelda.
The startup called Square is bringing a celebrity sports name to its board of directors. Former basketball player Magic Johnson will sit on the board of directors for Square starting in the summertime. It is not the first time Earvin “Magic” Johnson has been involved in businesses; you might even call him a leader in it. He is more than solely an NBA star.
If you like BuzzFeed but dislike having to wade through silly quizzes to get to its hard-hitting news articles, then you’ll like its new news app. The app is called BuzzFeed News. Okay, so it’s not that original of a title but it gets to the point. The app will solely be about news stories. No listicles here. It is an iOS application. It is more serious than the original BuzzFeed site with its pop culture content and quizzes for users.
