The release of Windows 10 is around the corner. It may come sooner than originally expected although it will be pricey if you don’t get a free upgrade. The originally predicted date for Windows 10 release was rumored to be July 29. But as per a tweet on July 23 from @GabeAul it appears that the review process is already underway, and a decision will soon likely be made.
Likely the Windows 10 Mobile version will release after the desktop one although they are linked. There has been a technical preview of the mobile version available since the middle of February.
Also, TechCrunch reports that Windows 10 will be very expensive if you plan to buy it overseas unless you get the free upgrade. It has already been known that the US price will be somewhere around the $119 or $199 mark but now the numbers for overseas purchase are releasing to the media.
International prices are higher, as per Microsoft disclosing pricing. In the United Kingdom, Windows 10 will be £99.99. That is about $157 in the US. In Europe, the price will be £135, which is approximately $151 US. That price is about the equivalent to Windows 8.1.
The free upgrade plan also continues for Windows, with its expectation being that Windows 10 will roll out to about a billion devices during its first year of release on the market. There is a one-year extension for an upgrade, so that is likely entered into that numeric calculation. In addition, news came on June 24 that Microsoft will release Windows 10 on USB flash drives, as per an image released by Winfuture.de. This OS will be available for download online. You will have the ability to get an ISO version, as well, so you won’t have to reload it every time you have to a reinstall of Windows.
