The Internet of Things (IoT) is burning up with activity and Renesas is the newest one to join the hardware development surge.
Renesas Electronics will soon offer a hardware development platform. It will link its microcontroller units to mobile devices. An example device is a smartphone.
In the new Synergy Platform, developers will be able to start at the API level, working on application programming, rather than having to start at the lower tier of peripheral driver software. The engineers will be able to skip more basic steps.
Manufacturers would save time, energy and money too. They would also benefit from being able to link offline products to the Internet without having to worry about having the skillset already to know how to do so.
Of course, manufacturers would have to make sure that software and chips purchased separately were compatible. With Renesas, they could get the microcontroller units and software from the Synergy Platform that could link their unique product to people’s smartphones.
The new platform from Renesas contains security elements and connectivity tools for users. The full suite of features will unveil officially in October at a conference for developers; the location of said conference will be in California.
Renesas Electronics is a Japanese-based chipmaker. It is one of several companies who are getting into the IoT space of making hardware. With IoT connectivity, so much hardware, services, and software can become more versatile when connected to the online space. The new move by Renesas with its Synergy Platform is to help them sell more chips and gain a bigger consumer pool.
IoT applications, in general, are developing on a daily basis, and we will continue to update you on this technology trend. They are high in power, fast, have excellent connectivity, and security features too. Big rollers in the IoT space right now include Qualcomm and Intel.
